With support from our partners, Sagamore launched Workforce 2040: Pathways to Prosperity at an event hosted Indianapolis. We were challenged by our keynote speaker, Ben Lytle, who provided a positive and bold vision of the future. Business, education, community and government leaders gathered to learn more about the challenges and opportunities the future holds from a panel of workforce experts. Will we be ready? I’m encouraged by the collective commitment to make sure that we are by highlighting our workforce needs and amplifying our assets. As population growth slows, how do we increase productivity and ensure personal prosperity? How do we increase the number of high-growth, innovative companies? How do we provide more Hoosiers with the skills needed as the jobs change? How do we enhance quality of place throughout the state?

These issues and many others are addressed in Workforce 2040. The book is complete but the work continues. Our commitment is to build statewide awareness and regularly revisit our predictions and recommendations. Indiana can be a leader if we prepare for and embrace the future.
