Take it to your Coach

Self. Support. Strength. Service.

Four pillars, four short videos — and every one of them ends the same way: take it to your coach. Not a football coach. Whoever actually shows up for you: a parent, a grandparent, a teacher, a counselor, a mentor, a neighbor, or a friend who's family by choice. If they show up, they count. You might not play a sport a day in your life. You've still got one.

    After Self

Ask them: what did you have to believe in before you got good at it?

  2. 02
    After Support

Ask them: who was on your team at my age?

  3. 03
    After Strength

Ask them: how do you plan out your week? Then steal it.

  4. 04
    After Service

Express gratitude out loud. Then think about who you can do the same for.

What's in the Playbook

Four plays from Jessie Bates III — safety for the Atlanta Falcons, Pro Bowler, and a kid from Fort Wayne, Indiana who was the smallest guy on his team in eighth grade.

Self

Just Believe

Jessie didn't grow into his frame until after his sophomore year of high school. A coach's first impression of him in the NFL was "who's this little guy?" That little guy made All-Pro — not by waiting around, but by believing in himself and outworking everyone who doubted him.

Support

Know Your Team

On his day off, Jessie ran film sessions for the defensive backs and linebackers. Nobody made him. Support isn't something you wait for — it's something you build before you need it. Who's on your team? Name your three people.

Strength

Muscle is a Mindset

Jessie's mom worked two jobs and still got home at nine every night — and still sat down and wrote out the whole week in a dollar-store planner. That's the muscle nobody sees. Strength isn't the kind you can measure. It's the work you put in before the hard day shows up, so you're not caught flat when it does.

Service

Lift Somebody Up

Service starts with noticing who's carrying more than they should. Jessie's rookie year, before he had much extra, he noticed three single moms doing exactly that — and showed up for them. Gratitude and generosity run in a loop: somebody lifts you up, you learn to lift somebody else.
