Atlanta

Sagamore has advanced ideas and innovation in Atlanta and across Georgia for nearly two decades. Please see stories below ranging from sports-driven economic development to enterprise solutions to poverty. Our partnership with Forum continues to fuel the pipeline of leaders using their platform for good.

FORUM

The most consequential change in the world happens through networks of leaders who trust one another deeply. Forum was founded on that conviction.

Created in London in 2015 and now jointly managed by Sagamore in the United States, Forum brings together senior leaders from across sectors — government, finance, media, and beyond — united by shared values and a commitment to using their platforms for good. Through lectures, supper clubs, and working groups in New York, Washington, DC, Boston, and Atlanta, Forum US moves ideas into action and individual influence into collective impact.

SAGAMORE ATHLETE IMPACT STRATEGIES

The JB3 Foundation

The JB3 Foundation, a partner of Sagamore’s Athlete Impact Strategies, empowers single mothers and their families by providing resources, education, and opportunities that foster stability, financial independence, and dignity. Founded in Atlanta and rooted in the city’s deep tradition of faith-driven civic engagement, JB3 was inspired by the sacrifice of the mother who raised its founder — a personal conviction that single moms deserve real support, not just recognition. The Foundation is a flagship example of Sagamore’s Athlete Impact Strategies venture, which partners with current and former athletes to deploy their platforms and resources for lasting community good.

Enterprise Solutions to Poverty

Commonwealth Impact Investing, Sagamore’s venture capital arm, has built an active and growing portfolio in Atlanta — deploying capital, convening leaders, and introducing ideas aimed at expanding opportunity across the city.

Commonwealth’s Atlanta work spans several distinct models.  It serves as operating partner for the Southern Communities Initiative’s effort to drive digital transformation across Community Development Financial Institutions — channeling new capital into Atlanta’s most underserved zip codes. And it is raising capital to support Thrive Farmers, an impact-driven coffee company that treats its growers as partners rather than suppliers and already supplies every Chick-fil-A globally.

Human Flourishing

Just south of Atlanta in Fayetteville, Georgia, the Trilith Foundation is turning groundbreaking global research into something communities can use. Trilith Foundation Sagamore Senior Fellow Byron Johnson co-directs the Global Flourishing Study, the most comprehensive scientific examination of human well-being ever undertaken — a $43.4 million, five-year collaboration between Baylor University, Harvard’s Human Flourishing Program, Gallup, and the Center for Open Science that tracks more than 200,000 people across 22 countries on happiness, health, purpose, character, relationships, and financial stability. Building directly on that research, the Trilith Foundation created Human Flourishing: A Field Guide — Be Well, Do Good, Together, a five-week journey for personal reflection and small groups that Johnson and Dr. Matthew Lee call “a gift to communities everywhere.”

ACROSS GEORGIA

The Augusta Summit

In partnership with Augusta Technical College, Sagamore helped launch the Augusta Summit — an annual, invitation-only gathering dedicated to renewing Augusta’s communities and building a more thriving Georgia. The inaugural summit was held April 7, 2026, at The Patch, Augusta’s historic municipal golf course, now reimagined through a redesign by Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, with a new 9-hole course designed by Tiger Woods.

The Patch is more than a venue. Named in part for Jim Dent, who learned the game as a caddy there before winning 12 PGA Tour tournaments, The Patch is a community renewal catalyst anchored by Augusta Tech’s agronomy center, First Tee programming, and a clubhouse built for the kind of civic convening that moves cities forward.

Best Ranger Competion

Fort Moore, Georgia — home of the U.S. Army Infantry School and the Best Ranger Competition — is one of the most storied proving grounds in American military life. The annual competition, which pushes two-man Ranger teams through 60+ hours of grueling physical and tactical events, bears the name of David Grange Sr. — father of Sagamore partner Major General Dave Grange.

The younger Grange carried that legacy forward, serving as an Army Ranger himself before finishing his military career as commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division. He went on to found Osprey Global Solutions alongside his wife Holly — a West Point graduate and former North Carolina state legislator — staffing it with an elite team of Delta Force, Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Green Beret veterans, alongside medical professionals and civilian technology entrepreneurs.

Sagamore’s partnership with Osprey brings that operational credibility to bear on one of defense innovation’s most persistent challenges: closing the gap between promising technology and battlefield deployment. Through the Osprey Accelerator, dual-use technologies move from early concept through rigorous field testing and staged capital deployment — the kind of proof-first process that the Pentagon’s acquisition system rarely provides on its own.
