Reindustrialization

Revitalizing our industrial core to secure our economy, strengthen national security, and empower Midwest communities

Why reindustrialize?

Reindustrialization is essential to strengthen America’s competitiveness, rebuild economic resilience, and ensure our national security. This is especially important to the Midwest, where industrial leadership has long powered American prosperity.

Reindustrialization isn’t just about rebuilding factories—it’s about creating the industries of the future. Across the nation, new technologies like advanced robotics, AI‑enhanced manufacturing, and next‑generation materials are transforming American industry. This modern industrial renaissance is enabling the U.S. to innovate faster, build smarter, and compete globally in critical sectors that are vital to national security.

The Midwest must lead this transformation. Long known as the heart of American manufacturing and the Arsenal of Democracy during the Second World War, the region is now becoming a hub for revitalized high‑skill, high‑tech production, particularly in the defense industry. Modern manufacturing ecosystems support resilient local supply chains, encourage investment, and create strong, well‑paying jobs that help rebuild thriving communities.

At Sagamore, we’re championing big ideas and rallying key leaders to reindustrialize for Midwest Defense by combining the region’s historic capacities with the technologies shaping the future of the world.

HOW WE'RE BUILDING

UNITING AMERICA'S BUILDERS

Sagamore is honored to host the New American Industrial Alliance Foundation. NAIA is home to the Reindustrialize Summit, featuring a coalition of builders, institutional capital and senior government leaders dedicated to enhancing American productivity to secure democracy’s future.

HOW WE'RE BUILDING

The gap between a promising technology and a proven one is where too many good ideas die. OspreyX exists to close that gap — a mission-focused environment where emerging dual-use technologies are showcased and evaluated under realistic, operational conditions across air, ground, medical, drone, and command-and-control domains.

Sagamore will be on the X this August as part of our Midwest Defense work, engaging operators, innovators, acquisition authorities, and investors who are moving capability from concept to deployment. If you’re building or funding technology for high-consequence environments, we hope to see you there.

Bridging the Innovation-to-Deployment Gap

HOW WE'RE BUILDING

We’ve teamed up with Osprey Global Solutions and Osprey Relief Foundation, led by Major General (Ret.) David L. Grange, to get essential innovations and technology to the front lines for warfighters and humanitarians. Through a network of Innovation Centers spanning Ukraine, North Carolina, and Indiana, we’re also creating a rapid innovation ecosystem that connects operational feedback, hands-on experimentation, formal testing, and scalable manufacturing. Our Osprey Accelerator closes the innovation-to-deployment gap to scale the development of systems that will define the future of defense.

Strengthening and Scaling Defense Innovations from the Heartland

A new industrial revolution is underway — and the Midwest is uniquely positioned to lead it. Sagamore’s Midwest Defense Accelerator advances America’s defense industrial base by strengthening the regional ecosystem, advancing innovations, and providing policy support to state and federal officials across the Heartland.

At the center of MDX’s work is Project SOAR — a coordinated effort to close critical defense supply chain gaps by aligning the Midwest’s historic manufacturing strength with a new generation of autonomous and maritime technologies. The vision: Maritime Prosperity Zones around the Great Lakes, each anchoring shipyard assets, an autonomous innovation center, and a testing corridor for dual-use autonomous systems.
